Grocery Shopping 101

You know you really like food when you get excited to go grocery shopping! I'll share with you three tips that i have learned about the grocery shopping experience since i decided to live a more healthy lifestyle, because good nutrition starts with smart choices in the grocery store.

1. Stay on the perimeter of the store. The outside perimeter of the store is where you find fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, and dairy; not processed and frozen foods. If you decide to go to the middle of the store, try to avoid foods that have more than 5 ingredients.

2. Have a grocery list. It is best to already have a list written or typed out before you go into the store because then you will not be tempted to buy junk that is not on your list.

3. Take a look at the nutrition facts. Something you are buying may be "organic" or "all natural," but this doesn't mean that it is healthy for you. Take a look at the fat grams and sugar content, and ingredients before buying something you think is "healthy."

Here are some pics of me in my natural habitat lol:)
