What Matters Most

More than anything else in the world, I value family and friendships over everything.

My relationships are my foundation. They are the people that complete me and enrich my life every day. Through the chaos and busyness of life, my family and friends are the ones who matter to me the most and are a consistent joy. Having people in my life that I can call family is priceless. Knowing that I have someone who cares for me and will always be there for me is extremely important. Their support and advice is something that has made me who I am today. I never want to take my relationships with them for granted.

I never recognized how blessed I am to have such supportive parents until coming to college. They have always supported me in EVERYTHING I do. Whether it was playing every sport growing up (baseball, softball, basketball, soccer, cheerleading, cross country, etc.), playing a role in musicals (Tarzan, Beauty and The Beast, Shrek, Mary Poppins, The Little Mermaid), or allowing me move across the country to go to school, they never held me back. I am so grateful for my relationship with them and for allowing me to always pursue my interests and dreams.

Recently, I have realized that my friends are the ones who bring me the most joy daily. This is my first time living with people who I can call my best friends. Seeing and talking with my three roommates is the highlight of my day. I value each of them and cannot imagine my life without them. The laughs, the cries, the roomie dinners, the front porch coffee chats, the daily recaps, the jam sessions, the “what are you wearing’s,” the walks to the beach, the total school grind moments, and the sitting in silence. Everything we do, I truly cherish. I also have two amazing best friends at home that I call and facetime every day, and these two relationships are so special, they are more like family. I am so thankful to be in a season of life where the people around me have my back and truly care about my well-being.
